FACING UP TO FAILURE
Knocked Down But Not Knocked Out! Falling does not make someone a failure. However, living in the shame of failure does. When you can't get past the self-pity produced by the shame and guilt of the fall from grace, you become a prisoner of the fall.
Like any prisoner you will do one of two things. You will accept your life sentence and plan your life around your failure or you will plan life centered on your release.
To have freedom you will have to make a decision to get up from your fall and fight back. In a modern translation of the Bible Paul says "I am knocked down but I am not knocked out". This principle applies to every area of life, marriage, business, friendship, an investment, a pastorate, even bad grades. You are only defeated when you refuse to stand up and fight for what you want to accomplish in life.

The literal Aramaic translation for this verse is: Where there is no prophetic (inspired), vision or revelation. The people dwell naked, exposed, and uncovered tending to break loose and run wild from the benefits and protection of God's word. Wisdom is the ability to see where you want to be in the future and make the right decisions that will take you there. Sound doctrine produces wisdom, the true definition for wisdom is to have the ability to discern, or see by way of knowledge, the future. These powerful teachings will lay the foundation for true spiritual vision.
