Devotional...

Tuesday 02nd of December 2008

Numbers 13:31-33 (NIV)
31 But the men who had gone up with him said, "We can't attack those people; they are stronger than we are." 32 And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, "The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. 33 We saw the Nephilim there, the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim. We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them."

These men are no longer wavering with a 'but', they have made a decision. They fell into the negative. Do you see what the men then said? In their own sight they were grasshoppers.

Do you know that most people see themselves in this light, "I can't do it. I can't administrate that, I can't go there." No but in God you can. You're the reason you can't but if you can release the God within you, you can. If you can lose yourself in Him you can say that, "It is no longer I that live but Christ that lives in me". If you can have a burial service and bury you and cross over, it is no longer 'I that live but Christ in me'.

I was talking to a man one day who helped me and took me in. One day this wonderful man came to me and said, "What are you going to do?" I said, "I don't know but I'll work it out". He said, "Do you know son, what you need to do is have a funeral service". You need to bury your old life and you need to walk out of who you are today. Whether you can do that here in these three months or whether you can do that over the next two or three years, you will need to come to grips with what you want in your own life to die and what you want in your life to be alive and what has bought you to this place that when you try to do something in the future, will stop you again and again and again until you defeat it. Your next step is to have a funeral service where everything in you is buried except the Lord". I think that was the wisest thing till this day I had ever heard. I use to think it was that learned man speaking to me but I think it was Jesus.

Welcome...

We are known as Cornerstone Christian Center because, according to 1 Peter 2: 4-10, as Christians we are living stones being built into a spiritual house - the church - of which Jesus Christ is himself the Cornerstone. He is the foundation of all we are and do. What we are doing is reaching out to our community and building strong foundations.

We are a family church helping people live and have life to the full. We welcome people into a dynamic Christian community where they can connect — with God, with one another and with opportunities to make a difference in our changing world.
