Hebrews 12:9, 10 (NIV)
9 Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for
it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live! 10 Our fathers
disciplined us for a little while as they thought best but God disciplines us for our good,
that we may share in His holiness.
It's harder and harder as a teacher, it's harder and harder as a judge, and
it's harder and harder as a parent to even try and enforce discipline under the
rebellious atmosphere that is being created at this time upon the earth. Being a Pastor is
one of the hardest jobs in the world because you are constantly putting pressure on
people's lives for change therefore you're fighting every bit of rebellion within
side of them that they can muster up because they don't want to change.
The bible says "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, a good
understanding have all they that do His commandments, His praise endureth for ever". We
are so busy arguing with Him. Now I've argued of God and He can see into your heart. He
is tolerant but if He sees any guile there, you are in trouble.
We come to Him, "Break me, mould me, and teach me". He says, "Ok".
The minute He starts, we get angry. We start to get frustrated with it all and yet we get
mad at Him when He doesn't become our servant and do it the way we want it done.
You've got no idea how many Christians are walking around angry with a root of
bitterness towards God because God didn't do it the way they wanted it done. I think
they are just blessed to be alive. It is a wonder He doesn't just smack them up the side
of the head and by the time they stopped travelling their clothes would be out of date.
