James 4:7, 8 (NIV)
7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come
near to God and He will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your
hearts, you doubleminded.
Many times people are not submitted to the Pastor and they are not submitted to God
or they are submitted to the Pastor who is not submitted to Christ or the wife in the family
is rebellious because the husband is saying, "Wife, obey your husband even unto the
Lord" but they don't want to obey Christ. The line of submission is broken. The wife
wants the kids to obey her, the husband wants the wife to obey him, and Christ wants the
husband to obey him and the whole line of submission is broken at every level and we all
want it to flow down hill from where we are at and yet there is no breaking within any of
us. We all want to have the submission flowing down but we don't want to have the
submission flowing up. That is a dictator spirit because a dictator has no authority outside
of itself, isn't that powerful?
Psalm 51 is certainly the model prayer of self cleansing. You see David
hadn't had the kingship taken off him, he was still king. There's a lot of Pastors
that are still Pastors, there are a lot of leaders that are still leaders, there are a lot
of fathers that are still fathers, there are a lot of mothers that are still mothers but
that doesn't mean to say that they have the kingdom. If the prophets, the leaders and
the priests are not in submission to God, it can't run down over the head and then flow
down. A breaking will then come in.
