Acts 2:15 (NIV)
These men are not drunk, as you suppose. It's only nine in the morning! 16 No, this
is what was spoken by the prophet Joel.
Hebrews 13:21 (NIV)
20 May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from
the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, 21 equip you with everything good
for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to
whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Correction is never rejection and so when ever we see the Holy Spirit moving the way
that He moves and people getting drunk in the spirit the way that they do, what next? Why
did this wonderful outpouring of the Holy Spirit come? Was it all so that we could just get
high and forget our problems like LSD or use it to go and sit and get drunk but when we
sober up the next day all our problems are still there? Why do we come and bask in God's
presence and never receive the power to go home and change the things that need to be
changed? You see, so many people become addicted to His presence but never become addicted
to the lifestyle that His presence was trying to introduce.
One day I found out why that drunken anointing came. I realised that it was just a
sedation to operate, just to allow people to get under and get drunk enough in the Spirit so
that you can be absolutely honest with them so that you can actually get down there and
start to meddle a little bit and they are laughing "Yeah haw, haw, haw, that is me, he,
he, ha, ha" It is sweet to the mouth and bitter to the belly and the next day when they
wake up they are hurting a bit as it regurgitates and blows their head off.
