Acts 4:29, 30 (NIV)
29 Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable Your servants to speak Your word with
great boldness. 30 Stretch out Your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders
through the name of Your holy servant Jesus."
When the early church had prayed, in Acts chapter 4, the whole place was shaking.
God answered, He said, "You will be baptised in the Holy Ghost and fire.
See that's the Holy Spirit that we meet. The Holy Spirit comes through
fellowship in that intimacy. We have to develop a spirit of respect for the Holy Spirit. Not
in a dread but in an excitement. We have to see that He is the answer. We have to crave for
His presence in our lives. We have to desire that impartation. He'll convince you that
you can stand up against the multitude and see them fall to your left and to your right but
no harm will come near you because He'll engulf you with His power and then He'll
demonstrate it to you. That builds genuine faith in God.
When you're standing there and you've got no way out and everything looks
black and all of a sudden you feel that presence over you and all of a sudden there is a
door open before you that you didn't even know was there and you see that you're
free, all of a sudden that job comes, all of a sudden that business starts to take off, all
of a sudden, when you walk in the house there is a Spirit of encouragement waiting for you
rather than a spirit of depression or spirit of control.
