Joel 2:12-13, 23-25 (NIV)
12 "Even now," declares the Lord, "return to Me with all your heart, with
fasting and weeping and mourning. 13 Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the
Lord your God, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love,
and He relents from sending calamity. 23 Be glad then oh people of Zion rejoice in the Lord
your God for He has given you the autumn rains in righteousness. He sends you abundant
showers , both autumn and spring rains, as before. 24 The threshing floors will be full of
grain; the vats will overflow with new wine and oil. 25 I'll repay you for the years the
locusts have eaten, the great locusts and the younger locusts and the locust swarm, My great
army that I sent among you.
Before we get a move of God we have to cleanse our hearts because if we got into a
move of God without cleansing our hearts all that is in our heart will start to grow. If
there is bitterness in you heart then the bitterness will get worse. If anger is in your
heart then the anger will get worse.
But if forgiveness is in your heart then the forgiveness will grow. If restoration
is in your heart then the desire for restoration and the desire for change would take place.
You see so many of us want God to bless us but we want Him to bless us where we are at
without change. But God says, "No, you change and then I will bless you." Rend your
hearts and not your garments.
